Why Was the UNIUYO Convocation Rescheduled?
The University of Uyo’s 31st and 32nd Combined Convocation Ceremony was initially scheduled for 2–7 November 2026, according to the university’s approved academic calendar.
A later report published on 20 October 2026 states that the ceremony has been moved forward by one week to 9–14 November 2026.
The reason for the reported change was not specified in the admission and education news update reviewed for this article. It would therefore be inaccurate to attribute the rescheduling to a particular administrative, logistical, or academic issue without an official explanation.
The important information for graduands is to confirm the final dates, follow any new instructions, and avoid relying solely on older announcements.
When Is the UNIUYO Convocation Lecture Holding?
Although the main convocation ceremony has reportedly been rescheduled, the convocation lecture is stated to remain on its previously announced date.
The details are as follows:
- Date: Wednesday, 4 November 2026.
- Time: 2:00 p.m.
- Venue: 1,000-Seater TETFund Auditorium, Main Campus, Nwaniba Road, Uyo.
The convocation lecture is an important academic event associated with the university’s convocation activities.
Since the lecture date falls before the reported new convocation period, participants should verify that the arrangements remain unchanged before travelling or making other commitments.
What Graduands Should Know About the New Convocation Dates
Graduands preparing for the 31st or 32nd Combined Convocation Ceremony should pay attention to official announcements from the university.
The following steps may help prevent last-minute difficulties.
1. Confirm Your Name on the Graduands’ List
Graduands should check the appropriate convocation list published by the university and ensure that their names and other personal details are correct.
UNIUYO has published notices asking undergraduate and postgraduate graduands to verify their details.
For the 31st undergraduate convocation list, visit:

For the 31st and 32nd postgraduate convocation lists, visit:

If you find an error in your name or other details, follow the instructions in the relevant university notice.
2. Follow Official Convocation Instructions
Graduands should watch for announcements regarding attendance, gown collection, academic regalia, invitation arrangements, and other requirements.
Do not assume that instructions from a previous convocation will automatically apply to the 2026 ceremony.
3. Confirm the Final Ceremony Schedule
Because the reported new dates differ from those in the university’s published academic calendar, graduands should verify the latest timetable before making plans.
Check the university’s official website:
4. Make Travel and Accommodation Plans Carefully
Graduands and their families travelling to Uyo should confirm the final dates before booking transportation or accommodation.
If you are travelling from another state, allow enough time for the journey and check for any further announcements that could affect your plans.
5. Keep Your Academic Documents Ready
Graduands should keep relevant academic records and any documents requested by the university available.
Follow the instructions issued by the appropriate faculty, department, or university office concerning graduation clearance and other formalities.
UNIUYO 31st and 32nd Combined Convocation Ceremony
The combined ceremony covers the university’s 31st and 32nd convocation editions.
Convocation ceremonies are significant events in the academic calendar because they recognise the achievements of graduating students and mark the completion of their respective programmes, subject to the university’s academic and administrative requirements.
The event also brings together graduands, their families, university management, academic staff, invited guests, and members of the wider community.
For many graduands, convocation represents the conclusion of years of lectures, examinations, research, assignments, and other academic responsibilities.
The university’s official announcements remain the best source for the confirmed programme of events, attendance instructions, and any additional arrangements.
