JAMB issues alert on fraudulent website targeting candidates who missed 2025 UTME
The board, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a warning to alert about a fraudulent site requesting payments from candidates who was unable to partake in the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for rescheduling of the just concluded examination.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin the spoke person of The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in a statement during a dialogue/communication made available to newscasters.
According to the intel the scammers are asking candidate who missed the UTME to make a deposit of the sum of fifteen thousand naira only (#15,700) into an account number 8520641017 at Sterling Bank for rescheduling.
The spokesperson Dr Fabian Benjamin said the account is being exploited to defraud unsuspecting candidates who missed their UTME.
The board issue this as an urgent notice to inform the public about this malevolent scheme been targeted to candidates who were unable to participate in the just concluded UTME.
To been honest and clear, this is indeed a scam, and we are confident that the public will not fall for such a cheap and deteriorating strategy.
Those people behind this scam have no affiliation or any connection with JAMB or any legitimate government agency.
“The account details provided in these communications are entirely fictitious and has no connection to any official processes; they exist solely for the purpose of perpetrating fraud,” as he stated.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has called on Sterling bank to take immediate and decisive action against this criminal activity.
He further said that “JAMB does not in any way reschedule examinations for candidates who miss their scheduled tests due to reasons unrelated to the Board’s actions”.
He also made us to understand that the Board is conducting a thorough investigation for candidates whose biometrics failed during verification and were unable to partake on the examination.
He said those without discrepancies would be invited to retake the examination and no payment of any kind is required.
JAMB does not charge any fees for examinations after a candidate has completed their registration.
“We strongly urge all candidates to remain vigilant and not to succumb to these fraudulent schemes.
“Protect yourselves and report any suspicious activity immediately,” he explained.
